Youth Day to be held Aug. 11 at LSUS - About 125 youths from 10 northwest Louisiana parishes are expected to participate in the third Youth Day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 11 at LSUS. The event, titled "No Skills "» No Thrills, Reality Check," is to make youth aware of the available opportunities that can empower them to be successful in the work force and in their life.

The forum is for students ages 16-21 who are a part of Shreveport Job Corps or WIA (Workforce Investment Act) programs.

Sponsors include Consortium for Education, Research, and Technology of North Louisiana, City of Shreveport -- Bureau of Workforce Development, Coordinating and Development Corporation -- Division of Workforce Development, LSUS, Louisiana Workforce Commission and the Shreveport Job Corps Center.
